Emergency plumbing

A burst pipe or a bad leak can do a lot of damage quickly. Here is what to do first, and what happens when you call.

Emergency call-out outside opening hours: from £120 (demo price)

What to do while you wait

  • Turn off the water at the stopcock. It is often under the kitchen sink.
  • Move what you can out of the way of the water.
  • If water is near sockets, a fuse box or light fittings, stay clear of them.
  • Tell us where the water is coming from, if you can see.

What happens next

In real life you would call at any hour, and the firm would ask what is happening, tell you what to do next, and agree when an engineer could reach you. This firm is fictional, so please do not rely on it in a real emergency.
